PERRY KING

pking@kingproperties.net

Perry King is the founder and principal of King Properties.  Since arriving in Atlanta from Richmond, Virginia in 1985, Perry has been an active commercial real estate broker and developer and has served clients and business partners in all parts of metro Atlanta. He founded and operated the Buford Highway Flea Market before turning his attention to adaptive-reuse intown projects. Perry developed the The Jane at Grant Park and 900 Dekalb Ave., also known as “The Dickey,” both completed with a conscious balance between modernizing and preserving the urban spirit of the original structures.

Below are select projects Perry has been involved with as an owner/developer:

  • The Jane — 437 Memorial Drive and 318 Cherokee Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia. Purchased in 2007, the property is located in historic Grant Park.  It dates back to 1934, and through the years has housed an elevator factory and a flower distributing company.  Today The Jane is a vibrant mix of office, retail and live/work space.

  • The Dickey — 900 Dekalb Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia. Located in the Inman Park neighborhood of Atlanta, Mr. King acquired the +/- 25,000 square foot office/warehouse building in 2008. The property was redeveloped in 2018 to include office, restaurant and retail space.

  • 1731 Commerce Drive, Atlanta, Georgia. A 22,159 square foot multi-tenant office building purchased in 2005, and later converted to office condominiums.

  • 3586-3596 Pierce Drive, Chamblee, Georgia. This 29,375 square foot multi-tenant office/warehouse building, located in the heart of Chamblee, was purchased by Mr. King and 3 other partners in 2008.

  • 5000 Buford Highway, Chamblee, Georgia. From 2001 to 2013, Mr. King owned and operated this 65,000 square foot Hispanic market.

Prior to focusing on in-town Atlanta redevelopment opportunities, Perry’s investments were primarily industrial properties in the Northeast submarket of Atlanta. In addition to his investment activities, he oversees the real estate brokerage and property management operation of King Commercial Properties, Inc., which he founded in 1992. Before that, Perry was an industrial real estate broker with both The Myrick Company and Cushman & Wakefield of Georgia, Inc.

Perry is originally from Richmond, Virginia. He currently lives in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, with his wife Patricia, their three children, Lily, Holden and Ryan; two dogs; and two cats. He often can be seen with a big Chardonnay in one hand and a kitten in the other — the proverbial “man in full.”
